Any symptom or medical condition that you are aware of, or a reasonable person in your circumstances ought to have been aware of, before the start of your holiday, for which one (or more), of the following apply…
I don’t know what condition to put because I don’t know what it is yet.
If you have a symptom that hasn’t been diagnosed, and you’ve seen, or are going to see, a medical professional about it, it’s considered to be a pre-existing medical condition. So you’ll need to answer ‘yes’ when we ask you about it during your policy application.
As you have to know the name of all of your conditions to complete a medical assessment, you won’t be able to do one, even if you have other diagnosed pre-existing medical conditions.
Whilst we hope your symptoms are caused by something minor, it’s possible it could be something more serious. Either way, we can’t work out what your overall health risk is to confirm if we can cover you, so until you know what it is, we can’t offer cover for any of your pre-existing medical conditions.
You can still buy a policy, but it’ll have modified terms.
- your pre-existing conditions will be excluded from cover; and
- your ‘Emergency medical’ cover will be limited to $20,000 (this only applies to you, not others listed on the policy with no medical conditions, or those with covered medical conditions); and;
- ‘Holiday cancellation & changes’ cover will be limited to $20,000 for any claims related to your health.
If you get a diagnosis before the start of your holiday, please email us at email@example.com so we can confirm whether there’s any change to your cover.
