What if I get sick but it's not an emergency?

A nurse on our team will be able to listen to your problem, and either provide advice to you then and there. If they feel it’s more serious, they will quickly arrange a call with one of our emergency room physicians.

Telemedicine.

If you have a wi-fi or mobile phone connection, we can arrange a video or audio call with a doctor from Australia then and there! This will eliminate a great deal of anxiety knowing that you’re talking to someone ‘from home’, and not being pulled into any unnecessary treatment or surgery. If the medical team feel that you do need to go to a medical facility, they will direct you to an appropriate one given the city or area that you’re in.

But it’s really minor…

Please don’t hesitate to call, no matter how minor you think the problem is! We would much rather be involved early, to make sure a small problem doesn’t become a big one.

What if there’s no time to contact you?

Go ahead and contact emergency services in the location you are in. Make sure you get and keep copies of all medical records and expenses.

If your treatment is likely to cost more than $1,000, or get you admitted to hospital, then contact us as soon as you can – or get someone to contact us on your behalf. You can call our emergency hotline to speak with one of our nurses, or if it’s easier – you can also email us at rescue@holidayrescue.com with a number we can call you back on.

We can help.

The sooner we hear from you, the sooner we can help and support you. You may be feeling lucky it wasn’t a worse outcome, and not want to make a fuss – but that’s what we’re here for. You deserve to know you have our support, and we might just be able to ease a few worries for you so you can focus on recovering quickly and having the great holiday that you deserve.
