Q. Can I extend my cover?
Yes, we can – as long as you tell us before your policy ends. As we don’t cover trips for longer than one year, you can’t extend past 365 days…
So if you decide you really want to stay on for a bit longer…
If you, or your family is in danger, try to stay calm and get out of the situation, or find a safer place to wait and call local emergency services.
When help is on it’s way, or as soon as you can safely contact us – call our emergency hotline.
Our hotline is covered by a caring team with a registered nurse on hand too, 24/7. They’re ready to assist you if you need to get to a hospital, help if you’re in an accident, or arrange medical evacuation if required. They can also give you first aid advice if you’re seriously concerned about your child or a fellow traveller. If you have a wi-fi or cell phone connection, it is also possible to arrange an actual ‘telemedicine’ appointment with an emergency room doctor or even a specialist if needed.
If you’ve received emergency help or been taken to hospital, and were unable to contact us – call us as soon as you are able to – even if you are no longer in an emergency situation.
If you’re not sure how to make an international call from your location, this website may help http://www.countrycallingcodes.com.
We know that it isn’t always possible to make a phone call in every situation. So you can also reach our emergency team by SMS (text message).
