You’re ready for your next international adventure, but there’s one small (and important) thing you need to do before you go… get travel insurance!
Get a quote in seconds, and in no time you can get back to planning your exciting holiday. At Holiday Rescue we think life is for living, and that your holiday abroad should be protected without hurting your wallet.
Whether you’re getting out of your comfort zone and exploring a new country, or you’re hitting the tropical beaches of a pacific island for a week of pampering, travel is filled with a rich variety of experiences. Getting on a plane (or cruising if that’s where your journey takes you), and heading overseas is one of life’s joys.
When you’re heading off to explore the world, the last thing you want to worry about is getting travel insurance. But you’re a smart cookie, so you know it’s not worth the risk travelling without it. We’ve taken the pain out of the process, so you can get back to planning your overseas holiday sooner.
What to look out for when buying international travel insurance:
Sneaky night in Singapore on the way to Europe? Make sure you add it to your list of destinations to be sure you’re covered. Places like Dubai, the USA and Thailand are a great way to add variety and unique experiences on the way to your main holiday destination. So if you plan an exciting stopover (or two), make sure they’re also on your policy to avoid a nasty surprise if something does go wrong.
There are some things that aren’t covered, like putting yourself in harms way. We know you’re onto it (you’re reading our website after all!). If you’re riding down a Californian freeway at 150mph with no helmet on, it’s not exactly unexpected if you have an accident and injure yourself. We cover the reasonable things regular people do while on holiday – just something to keep in mind.
You can have up to 6 adults on a policy, with a maximum of 10 people including kids. This means that grandparents, parents and children, or you and your friends, can all go on one policy. Plus anyone 17 or under listed on your policy is covered for free — and are also fully covered individually for each section.
What you need to know about international travel insurance.
Yes. However, you must get your insurance sorted before you hear about the earthquake or possibility of a volcano erupting. If you wait until it’s happened or has been forecast, you’re too late to get cover for that event – and that includes some active volcanoes which are known for erupting relatively regularly such as Mt Agung in Bali. We issue warnings on our website for active volcanoes to advise whether or not you will be covered for related volcanic activity like ash clouds from those particular volcanoes. You can also read this article for more about travel insurance for volcanic ash clouds.
Yes we do. The good news is that you’re covered for up to $50,000 per policy, for cancellation costs, so you’re unlikely to end up out of pocket. Just keep in mind that you will need to claim from the airline first, if they don’t help you, then you should contact us and make an express claim.
You can select a Comprehensive or Essentials policy if you want cover for international travel. We make it easy for you. Just enter all the destinations you are travelling to when you get a quote, and we’ll give you a choice of both of our international travel insurance policies. Don’t forgot to select “going on a cruise” at the next step if you’re going to be on a boat for one night or longer, to ensure you’re fully covered for that part of your holiday. We also offer Domestic travel insurance, which is a great way to protect your next holiday in Australia.
