What if I get sick, but it's not an emergency?

Telemedicine.

If you have a wi-fi or mobile phone connection, we may be able to arrange a telemedicine conference with a nurse or doctor on our team then and there! This will eliminate a great deal of anxiety knowing that you’re talking to someone ‘from home.’  If the medical team feel that you do need to go to a medical facility, they will help direct you to an appropriate one given the city that you’re in.

But it’s really minor…

Please don’t hesitate to call, no matter how minor you think the problem is! We would much rather be involved early, to make sure a small problem doesn’t become a big one. We had one case where a minor coral cut wasn’t treated properly, and then two weeks later became a life-threatening infection.

What if I can’t contact you?

If you are unable to contact our emergency assistance team, then go ahead and get help from the best medical facility you can find (maybe through your hotel recommendation), and make sure you get and keep copies of all medical records and expenses.

If your treatment is likely to cost more than $1,000, or get you admitted to hospital, then contact us as soon as you can – or get someone to contact us on your behalf. You can call our emergency hotline to speak with one of our nurses, or if it’s easier – you can also email us with a number we can call you back on at rescue@holidayrescue.com.

We can help.

The sooner we hear from you, the sooner we can help and support you. You may be feeling lucky it wasn’t a worse outcome, and not want to make a fuss – but that’s what we’re here for. You deserve to know you have our support, and we might just be able to ease a few worries for you so you can focus on recovering quickly and having the great holiday that you deserve.
